First weekend in ages where I had a complete break in routine. No Saturday visit to Bob the Butcher, as I was down in Gloucestershire drinking good wine and off on a trip from Sharpness down the Bristol channel to Portishead.
As you can see, we had a fantastic day for it (though it got a bit rough as we approached Portishead).
Don't know whether it was down to drinking too much wine, but Paul managed to sit or sleep on his sunglasses. OBC is still pugging that we managed to get through four bottles of his best wines which included a very nice Californian Zinfandel called Wandering Bear.
You get quite a view when you go under these enormous bridges rather than zapping over them at 70 mph in a car.
Saw this boat named Enterprise which was skippered by a Captain Kirk. Sent the link for the pic to William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy whom I follow on Twitter, but it seems they are disinterested.
I came home last night though I didn't have to take posh volvo back til this morning, so I was wable to hit the Asda last night and go out very early this morning.
Decided to photograph the Highgate brewery, which has closed down and is believed ot be under threat from property developers.
Got an exterior of the White Lion, so Fez Master Steve Mays could see what a proper pub looks like
And I took this of my old local which gives an example of what's happening to pubs all over the country every day of the week.
Lots more pictures from the trip here: My Flickr pics
The seafarers are Padstow bound and already salivating over lunch at Rick Stein's restaurant. Nice if you can get/afford it.
Great photos, Keith!!
Cheers,
