A couple of days ago, I didn't go to the supermarket but opted for a Kingsmill wholemeal from the local shop. Kingsmill is shit bread and tastes like brown cardboard yet poor as I am, I decided to give it the heave ho over a 400 gram Warburtons wholemeal.
It was very welcome down at Hatherton lake with the swans and geese getting the edge on the quackers this morning. I noticed there are four cygnets, not three and they are all huge and healthy. Methinks swans make good parents.
I noticed earlier in the year, when you fed the birds, the adult swans would let the young ones feed before they did.
You can see in this picture, they are on the cusp of turning white. Be interesting to see what they are like come next spring.
