Calories up the duff today

Yes, every day this week so far, the most calories I've pushed down my clack has been 1300.

The parties in the works canteen revolve around lots of curry, excellent curry.

There are a lot of Indian lads on the factory floor at OBC's, who are used to good curry at home. OBC is used to good curry and in turn so is everyone else in the company.

On today's menu, as well as all the salad, samosas, naans, we had Saag aloo (potato and spinach which I have 10 out of 10). A meat curry, two different styles of chicken curry, some chicken pakoras, a vegetable curry and loads of fluffy basmati rice.

Yes, I'd scoffed it and you can see from how much I left, how bloody awful it was !

Same as the generous portion of 2 types of curry, rice and pakoras I have in my kitchen now. Well, actually I've necked the pakoras and had a fork or two of cold curry which actually is nice.  I've had cold surry for breakfast in my youth.

At OBC's I sat amongst a load of Indian lads who were tucking in with vocal enthusiasm and despite not knowing them from Adam, they made me feel part of their band.

OBC did his speech, tinged with a lot of teasing for the lad who's put in 25 years, who apparently welded in the fuel tanks on the first boat Anhinga and managed to permanently buckle the hull.

Nothing like lauding someone's successes eh ?

I know O'de un's a bit maudlin, cos next weekend is the last weekend of summer where the boat is concerned and it will be time to bring her home to Portishead for the winter. Nowt wrong with Portishead though, it's in the west country, which you know claimed a bit of my heart thirty odd years ago.
