Ten to eight this morning, I put my snow boots on and traipsed down to the arboretum with 8 large slices of Warburtons wholemeal and a lot of pity for the little cold ducks.
Stood there ripping it into pieces and casting it asunder and not one duck, goose or moorhen stirred. As I walked away, I looked back and the gulls had spotted it and were homing in for a feed.
Ducks and geese were all out on the ice in the middle of the lake.
Usually, this crew have eyes like those of a shit house rat, so why they didn't come for their brekky, I have no idea.
I was a bit disappointed with the snow setting on the phone cam, mind you, I may not have really needed to use it, as the light was not too good, murky and foggy.
It was still snowing last night, so I tried out the night setting on the phone cam, to amazing results.
All these are hand held from a phone !
Usually, I go out around nine on a Sunday morning so I can time my arrival back up this end of town with a visit to Tesco which doesn't open til 10am (Sunday trading laws). I was back home around ten to nine and was delighted to find the petrol station which is part of Tesco, open and they had Pepsi Max and it was the same price as you'll find in the supermarket (on offer at a pound a bottle).
I don't therefore need to trudge back out in the snow, which is a bit hard to walk in. So now I know if I have a need for a Pepsi Max fix on a Sunday before Tesco opens, I can pop down there, as they open at 7:30.
