I wasn't going to mention this, as I have been trying to tone down the bitter and angry bit.
OBC called me on Friday and said can you be up the Navi in 6 minutes for a pint ? You don't need ask the answer.
When I got there, he was already in the pub and unfortunately, a noisy bunch holding a wake. In their defence, they were having a good time and they were there before me, so all I can say is I would not want to spend a lot of time in such noise.
OBC only stays a short time, because being a creature of habit, he is expected home at a particular time. I wasn't far behind him, but I did make time to film the local X Factor runner up.
Now the reason for this story is... I was given two cans of Stella in a carrier bag by OBC which, in my eagerness to escape the karaoke king featured above, I left behind. I was half way home before I realised and had to face the dilemma of going back to the noise versus going without two cans of beer.
Going home to the quiet and warm won out.
Now really unusually, I got a call earlier this afternoon from OBC asking if I could be up the Navi in less than 8 minutes. Answer again, was yes (after a disappointing and unproductive day). He made a point of asking at the bar if anyone had handed in two cans of Stella.
Now, I'd have gone down Coral's and put a fiver against it happening, the bag of beer had been handed over and was duly returned.
Being totally honest here, if I found an item of value, say a wallet containing cards and cash, I would either hand it in or make all ateempts to return it to the owner, I really am like that.
If I found a bag with two pristine cans of beer, I would claim them for my own.
So my cynism to the good people of the Navi was indeed misappropriated and I was two cans of Stella up on a rather dull day - sweet ! Enjoy the video if you dare click.
