Well, there was one consolation of being a Johnny no mates on new year's eve. I set up my little Fuji and as the chimes struck at midnight, I took pictures of the celebrations bursting all over the neighbourhood.
I put a few more than shown here on my Flickr stream here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/sandalandsoxer/sets/72157628661221349/
Spoke to the welder earlier, he didn't stay up for the witching hour, him and Pat being another couple of Johny no mates too !
I was saying to Channie the other day, 2011 was a year of big change for me, having to move after 22 years in my flat. Of course, it was a happy accident because where I am now, I am warm, quiet (until the nutter downstairs starts screaming).
The flat is small enough to manage and keep tidy, I have lovely views across town, great sunsets as the lounge faces west, excellent people who manage the estate and I get a grandstand view of fireworks on special occasions.
Just took the piece of pork out the fridge to put in the oven. Can't believe the size of it. I think Bob was compensating for forgetting to include it in my Christmas order (he also forgot cheese, pigs in blankets and some other stuff). I didn't gripe about it, because I know how much pressure he's under each Christmas, he really does hate it with a passion.
He told me the beer I gave him didn't last long after he'd finished his duties on Christmas eve around midnight.
Wonder what 2012 will hold for us apart from olympic hype ?
