I know the Americans don't do it til next week, but we put our clocks back last night (or our hi tech gizos did it for us). Only thing I had to change was the cooker, bloody dumb device !
I sent the welder a text yesterday reminding him to put the clocks forward and I think he fell for it.
The BBC newscaster Naga Muncheti tweeted she'd wondered was it forward or back. I replied what I'd done to the welder and she found this cruel but amusing.
I got up at my normal sort of time, so it was around 6am "new time". Used the time to empty and wash out the big plastic bin in the kitchen which was looking a bit yuk.
Went to bed feeling very pleased with myself after such a frustrating Friday trying to mate up the new phone to the PC.
Did some research and discovered that the Samsung Kies software and the drivers for the S2 are pretty pants across the board, a lot of griping going on all very much the same as my own.
On one of the geek forums, there was a solution but it was written in geek speak. I decided to give it a try, downloading one piece of software called Android Sync Manager for the laptop and a similar thing for just connecting wirelessly, on the phone. I was a little worried, because it wasn't one of those hold your hand installations, being in beta.
In less than 5 minutes, the laptop was communicating with the phone via the router at an impressive speed and all my problems are solved. Well, they will be if the software runs on the big PC in WIndows 7. I shall be trying that later today. In a while, it's walk, Tesco, prep lunch and then potter about.
Helen called last night. When I saw her number come up on the display, I dreaded what the phone call might bring, but she told me "it got better". It's probably something to do with the Windows restore routine which often helps cure driver errors by setting the op system back a few days.
Wonder what time the welder got up ?
