Postman's just been. A package from Baltimore, bursting with beautiful and unusual varieties of chilies from Molly Goatwax in Baltimore.
It is she who gave me the bug for growing chillies, but our summer didn;t allow for such a harvest like she has.
She's been telling me recently that she's had it with hybrids. I don't know which if any of these are such, but they are so fantastic to look at, it's a pity they have to go in the freezer.
This health warning came with the Yellow Ghost Bhut Jolokias which have a Scoville rating of 2 million.
No, they aren't carrots, but they are called Bulgarian Carrot Jalapenos !
Opening this package today was like Christmas morning. Much appreciated, thank you Moll !

Looks like a Happy Keith!!

The Bulgarian Carrot peppers are as strong as Jalapenos, but are not hybrids nor are they a type of Jalapeno. None of those in the packet are hybrids. The reason I don't want to grow seeds from my own crop is that they've been interbreeding.
