Arboretum was open when I got down there this morning. I tried to find out online what the opening times were, as I know they alter with the seasons.
Found the e mail of the council official in charge of the arboretum, dropped her a line asking what are the opening times. Her reply gave me the closing times and a comment that it will be open by 8am (which just doesn't answer the question).
I had this a few weeks ago, when I wrote to Vodafone, 2 pages which had about three questions contained. I received no answer, so I gave them a hard time about it by e mail. They answered but didn't address the questions and then a letter arrived about five weeks after I'd written which ran to six lines and had no relation to what I'd written about and didn't answer the questions.
I wasted 50 minutes on the phone on Monday where an Indian woman wouldn't answer any question directly and when I pressured her to stop reading from a script ans listen to my questions, she passed me on to a higher level of authority, the warehouse and a perpelxed guy who just happened to be by the phone. He passed me over to... Well no one, the call disconnected.
By the time I got back to someone I was in a foul mood and didn't really want to repeat myself again, so asked if there was anyone in their organisation who would own the problem, stop reading from a script and maybe call me back later in the day when they've had a chance to think about my questions and make a decision.
"This is a call centre, what do you expect". Only piece of useful information I could get from him was that my contract ends on the 2nd of January and so does my 12 plus years of association with Vodafone.
Anyway, back to the arboretum. It was nice and cool to begin with, but the sun soon came out and made the light just right for some pictures.
It's nice having such a bostin big park to walk round and see how it changes through the seasons. Saw loads of squirrels probably after nuts and of course risked a mugging off the ducks as I passed the lake. I think I may have to make amends next week and take some bread with me.
Seeing these stocks, I can think of a few people I would like to lock in them and throw horse manure at. Several members of the Vodafone "team" for example !

These Arbo vegetation photo's are as good as any pro pics I have seen. They are the dogs. We're not yet in full fall but I've seen no better illustration that autumn has just quietly sneaked up on us. Well done
