I mentioned I met up with OBC on Friday very briefly for a pint up at the Navigation, so called because it's on the side of the cut where the boats go by.
In this case one of the 8 locks (I think there are).
When OBC left a few minutes before me, he called me and said that in the 50 yards between the pub and the car, he'd got soaked as the heavens opened.
I left the pub less than ten minutes after and the sun was shining brightly. What is it they say about the sun and the righteous ?
Was really chuffed to see a narrowboat going through the lock.
I had a bit of a chat with the lock keeper and was amazed to learn that thirty to fifty boats go through here a day.
That's nice...
