You know how excited kids get when they know it's time to go on holiday. They pack their bags well in advance, everything cept the kitchen sink and the all important bucket and spade.
Well, that's exactly how it was last night, when I rang the welder. He was packing his bag (doesn't go til Friday), searching out a variety of socks to contrast with his holiday sandals, charging up his little Fuji so he can take lots of pictures, ooh, he was so excited. I bet he won't sleep on Thursday night.
He's off to Padstow in Cornwall which incidentally, is where OBC currently has the boat parked up. I've suggested they meet up, but I don't know whether OBC will be there at the same time. For example, he went off down there yesterday and comes back Saturday, but the welder is going Friday and of course, getting hold of OBC by phone is nigh on impossible these days, because he keeps dropping his phones overboard !
Saw McBark yesterday, he'd got a favour to ask. Could I take a look at the system he was given by the bank to process credit cards. I said sure. I didn't realise I was going to be handed 2 carrier bags full of tat, including an Ingenico card processing terminal, which I had to carry home. Just call me pack hoss !
There's a load of stuff included and I've got to plug it into the phone line, so God knows who's credit card's going to get charged what and where.
Whilst our funds don't run to holidays, Charlie Chalk and I are planning to meet in Birmingham on Monday. It's a city I tend to steer clear of, but it will give me the opportunity to get some pictures to put on Flickr.
When he went over there on Monday of this week, he had a pint in the pub Bill Clinton visited when the G8 bunch were in town. I think that's why they think they can charge £ 3.02 for a pint of Fosters gash !
If we have a pint, I'm hoping we can find somewhere considerably cheaper.
